As I mentioned yesterday, I am starting crossfit this week. Last night I had my first “Elements” class. It started out by filling out some paper work before we started going over the importance of proper form.
The first exercise that we went over was the back squat. Many of us there had a good idea on how to do a proper back squat, so after a little bit four of us took turns increasing weight slowly until it became the max weight (I did 100lbs). One major thing that I learned was that I don’t stick my booty out far enough! I found a big difference in how my back felt after altering my position.
After the back squat, we went over the shoulder press and a basic push up. I need to go over the grip for a proper shoulder press again, but the instructor said that my form was good during the actual exercise.
After finishing reviewing and practicing these three exercises we had our first workout! It was short, but I could tell that workouts like these could certainly kick my ass.

I finished this in 2 minutes! It felt great to run in the door and see my time.
Wednesday is the next course- It is also going to be over 90 degrees…I think that I am going to be a tiny bit more sore on Thursday!
