My weekends are usually pretty boring. I usually spend them catching up on sleep and doing lots of homework. The past two weekends, however…have been VERY busy! This weekend I ran the color me rad 5k with Chris. It was our first race together! We both had a really good time and thought the concept was really cool! I have no idea what we ran this race in- it wasn’t timed and I didn’t wear my watch. I do know that it felt like we were going fast though!
Eventually I got in touch with a friend of mine from school who was running with a bunch of my friends and classmates from my grad program! We waited and were able to watch them cross the finish line. It was Amanda and Jasmines first race- was a cool experience! So proud of these ladies!
Watch out world- future librarians run fast and play hard!

The only drawback to this race was the traffic getting in and getting out. It took over an hour to get out of the parking lot! Oh well- we still made it home in time for Chris to get ready for work. After showering and eating I was back in the car headed down to Albany again with Andy and Chasie for Pearl Palooza- a free concert done by an AWESOME radio station, WEQX.
We arrived in time to see Phantogram and Matt & Kim. The picture above is from Phantogram- a glorious fall afternoon. Not a cloud in the sky! Andy and Chasie were hungry, so after listening to them for a little while, we walked to subway up the street. While they were eating, I looked out the window and noticed that it was POURING. Down pouring! So much rain! I thought I was going to need a small boat to come pick me up!
(note the people using a sandwich board to cover themselves from the rain)
I hate wet feet. I hate wet hair. Essentially I hate being rained on. I hung out in subway for as long as possible until they started to close up shop – at that point the rain had slowed down and it wasn’t THAT bad out. But…by the time I made it down to where the crowds were it started down pouring again (mind you, I was wearing a long cotton sweater, sandals and jeans) I sucked it up and found them in the crowd and stood there for the next two hours! The concert was good- but man did I feel like a grumpy old person. I am glad that I did it- considering I never do anything like this, but really…I wanted hot cocoa and cozy socks.
Note to self-
Check weather constantly before and OUTDOOR concert
Don’t leave rain boots in the car
Don’t bother bringing your purse
