Good morning! Today I am going to talk about a few of my favorite products that I have been using since starting the Whole30. Some of them are things I bought because I knew I would use them this month, and other things we have had or have received as gifts. (This is NOT a sponsored posts and links are not affiliate).
When I first started planning out my Whole30, I knew that cutting out rice was going to be hard for me. I don’t eat it a ton, but it is always there as a nice filling grain. One of the first recipes I made before starting the Whole30 was cauliflower rice. Cauli rice is a great way to add volume to my meals and make sure I am eating enough vegetables. I am going to be honest and say that I THOUGHT that I was going to hate it. I am not a big cauliflower fan… it is the veggie that I usually pick around and never voluntarily eat. That being said, cauliflower rice and I have become friends. After blitzing it in the food processor (we got this one for Christmas and love it), heat up a little olive oil and garlic in a pan and add a cup or two. Let the flavors mingle and enjoy!
Another thing that I knew that I would probably want during the Whole30 was a veggie spiralizer. After about a week of doing the Whole30 I realized that an amazon order was necessary and I picked that one up. I used it for dinner tonight and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use and clean. Another thing that I realized I needed right away was additional togo containers for bringing my breakfast and lunch to work. We had a few from a small set, but more were totally necessary for the amount of food I have been prepping. Silpats are super handy for making roasting veggies in the oven. They also work really well for things like cookies..and other delicious treats I’m not going to tempt myself with even thinking about. The one tool that I am going to already talk about even though I haven’t used it yet is the immersion blender that I picked up. I am planning on making some soup over the weekend and thought that getting this bad boy would make life super easy! I am also planning on making my own mayo.
Things that I have been enjoying: Zoodles! I made them for dinner and really liked them.
Things I miss: Still bagels. (sad face)
How I have been feeling: Really good! I ran a workshop after work and it went really well. That + my overall awesome-feelingness was essentially cloudnine.
WHOLE30 DAY 13 EATS –
Snacks: I snacked on nuts and raisins at work and then had a small slice of quiche a few hours after dinner.
What are your favorite kitchen gadgets? I love little tools that make life easier, please share!
