I think that a break from all of this Whole30 talk is necessary… what do you think? I am still a regular person under all of this cauliflower rice and coconut milk coffee mumbojumbo. Lets talk about our favorite things. Favorite EVERY things. Songs, movies, products, days of the week, you name it. (skip to the bottom if you are interested in my Whole30 update)
Okay, I’ll start:
Favorite song of the moment- Lord Huron, She Lit a Fire. Seriously- this song has become an obsession.
Favorite movie- I have a few, but I always come back to Amélie. It is a quirky french movie that I absolutely love. Watch it and tell me what you think! Also, the soundtrack gives me goosebumps.
Favorite book(s) read recently-
I read Prayers for the Stolen by Jennifer Clement and really enjoyed it. The book itself is about how being born as a girl in the mountains of Guerrero, Mexico is incredibly dangerous. “The best thing you can be in Mexico is an ugly girl” is the underlying theme for the book. In Mexico girls are taken from their homes and their jobs from gunpoint and never return. The book gave me a lot of insight about what is going on in Mexico these days and a huge appreciation the life I have.
Favorite YA book read recently –
Everyday by David Levithan and Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell –
Both of these books were quick reads and really stuck with me. They are are not the typical love stories and can really stir up a lot of emotion.
Favorite Dogs-
Butternut Squashington and Cooper the Wonder Wiener…obviously.
Favorite Color-
Gray! I have a gray problem.
Favorite Cake Recipe-
Beatty’s Chocolate Cake by Ina Garten. Super simple and SO GOOD. I make this cake for pretty much everyones birthday and no one is sick of it yet. Why did I just look up a cake recipe?? #whole30problems
Favorite Dog Shampoo-
Totally random, but I have to share this little nugget. Use Mane & Tail shampoo when washing your dog! It is seriously the BEST and so cheap. I used to splurge and get fancy dog shampoo for Buddy, but with the amount of hair he has I was going through it like crazy. Mane & Tail works really well and lasts a long time. And it smells good too!
Favorite place to visit-
Boston! I have been daydreaming about visiting soon. Last February Chris and I went and it was awesome. One night we got dinner in the North End (Italian Section) and had a whole restaurant to ourselves. We had an amazing meal, split a bottle of wine and then went and saw a comedian. Still one of the best dates ever.
Anyway – I hope you enjoyed this post! I know I did. Here is my Whole30 update.
Things that I have been enjoying: Clementines this time of year are perfect.
Things I miss: Wine.
How I have been feeling: Still good!
WHOLE30 DAY 14 EATS –
Breakfast & Lunch were the same as yesterday- for dinner I made a buffalo chicken salad by mixing ghee & franks red hot. I had the spicy chicken on a bed of romaine with carrots, cherry tomatoes, peppers, guacamole and salsa.
