Over the past few months I have really stepped up my running. I have been using a intermediate 5k training plan to help me stay on track and up my speed. After almost a month of training, I finally beat my biggest goal, run a 5k in under 30 minutes!  After a long weekend at the HLS, I wasn’t expecting to break any records yesterday. I actually felt tired after the first mile and a half. I felt tired, but I didn’t hurt. There were no cramps or pains coming from anywhere, it was just mentally challenging. Even though I felt tired I continued to mush on. I knew that the end result would be much greater than those 2 minutes of walking bliss. And it sure was! When I found out that I beat my previous time of 30:16, I was so happy!

Mile 1: 9:28
Mile 2: 9:31
Mile 3: 9:09
.11 : 1 minute

It just proves to me that sticking with a plan and working your butt off really does give results. I can’t wait to see how things are when I finally sign up for my next 5k!  Any upstate NY people running any upcoming races? I would love a buddy to run with!

So not only was yesterday a big day for me running wise, but it was also my parents 26th wedding anniversary! Congratulations!

I also wrote my very first guest post. It is all about the power of blogging friendships and how important they are to me. Please check it out!

Great job! That is definitely one of my goals as well – but I am still a few minutes off! Like you, I thought I would be exhausted after HLS, but I was also surprisingly speedy during my latest run!
