Good morning!! I hope everyone had an awesome labor day weekend. Today marks the beginning of my first large internship for my masters degree. Superintendents day! Right now I am probably in an auditorium with a bunch of people I don’t know yet with huge butterflies in my belly. I am really excited for the kids to be there on Wednesday! ANYWAY. One thing that I know that I will be struggling with this fall is food. When will I have time to eat? What can I bring? Do kids have peanut allergies? Seriously. I have been stressing about if when and where I will have time to have a snack. I know everything will work out, but until then I have a couple of my favorite snack attack ideas written down and thought I would share.
Apple and a cheese stick. This combination is one of my favorites! You get a boost of protein from the cheese, and if you do it right eating and apple can take a while. Stretching out snack time is a must if you want to feel full!
Greek yogurt with cereal or granola. This is what I have for breakfast almost daily. Not only does it keep me full, but I never get sick of it! This is for if you need something to stick with you for a couple of hours.
Instant oatmeal with extras. I know that steal cut oats are way better, but if you are in a time crunch and are hungry, this is an easy way out! I make my oatmeal and then either chop up and apple or banana and mix it up with a spoonful of peanut butter. This is one of my favorite after work/ pre dinner snacks.
English muffin with peanut butter. Okay, this is great for if you are running out the door and need something quick! I turn to this sometimes before I head down to my evening class (which is an hour away). Having this with a second mug of java usually keeps me full for a while.
Things to remember: You might just be thirsty! Sometimes when I catch myself grazing, I realize that I really just need a big glass of water. I always try to stay hydrated, but sometimes you can forget these things.
Things I need to make: Hard boiled eggs! I never eat them. I am not even 100% sure that I like them. One thing is for sure though, I see a LOT of them on blogs and they make me want to eat them!
Oh wait. Were you looking for a giveaway winner??
