In the beginning of July, I posted a list of goals for myself for the month. Lets see how I did!
Run at least 3 times a week. No excuses!(Beginning of the month failure)
- Run the 4 mile battlefield loop
Strive to run farther distances, just have fun! Begin a weight training regimen
In the beginning of the month I slacked with my exercise goals. I have gotten better though- last week alone I ran more than I have since the beginning of June! I ran a total of 16 miles last week. My highest number ever! On top of that, I have also began a weight training regimen at the gym, doing other cardio on off running days, as well as taking Bud for walks. I haven’t ran the 4 mile battlefield loop yet- the idea of running and then driving home in this recent heat doesn’t sound like fun. One of the best things about running around my neighborhood is the fact that I almost always dive in the pool to cool off when I am done!
Don’t over indulge (as much) Stick to eating clean, healthy foods (I always feel better when I do!)
- Go to the farmers market more often (FAIL) I haven’t been once! I always get sidetracked or forget.
Not counting vacation, I would say that I have cut back on indulgent foods. I try to stick to what my body is craving.
Finish the Harry Potter series
- Read The Help
and all of the other books that your heart desires.
Finishing the last Harry Potter book took longer than expected. I don’t know if it was the fact that I was busy with other things, or that I was reading it slowly and didn’t want it to end. Oh well, it is finished now. They are such great books! I started reading The Help right after finishing Harry Potter, but realized that my library books were going to be due soon, so I started reading them. I just finished Laurie Colwins book, Home Cooking: A writer in the kitchen and am almost done with Confections of a Closet Master Baker. After I finish that, The Help with begin!
- Be a better blogger!
- Keep posts relevant and exciting
This is something that I have been working on. I ordered business cards for the Healthy Living Summit, but haven’t been cooking as much as I would like. There is something about being near and oven when it is 85+ out that makes it seem less enticing…These goals are constant. They haven’t ended now that July is over. I will continue to be a better blogger and hope that my readers feel that I keep things exciting!
Here is an embarrassingly short list of my cooking adventures from July-
